Playing For Pies

Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of the Playing For Pies website, the collector hats, and the challenge and donation features. By using the site or buying a hat, you agree to them.

Last updated June 2026

1. Who we are

Playing For Pies is operated by [Registered entity name] (ABN [ABN]), based in Australia. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to that entity, and “you” refers to the person using the site or owning a hat.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to buy a hat or take part in a challenge. By using the site you confirm that you meet these requirements.

3. The hats and collector numbers

Each hat carries a collector number issued as part of a limited series. A number is linked to your account when you purchase it. Numbers are sold on a first come, first served basis and are limited in quantity.

The hat, not the person, holds the competitive record. If ownership of a hat changes, the record stays with the hat.

4. Challenges, pies and payments

A challenge is a friendly wager measured in “pies”. Each pie has a fixed value of $5. When a challenge is settled, the agreed number of pies is charged to the paying player using the payment method saved to their account.

The first pie of every challenge goes to the winner’s chosen food charity. Any remaining pies are credited to the winner. A platform fee of $0.50 plus payment processing costs is added to each challenge. All amounts are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise.

5. Charitable donations

We act as a platform that passes donations to the food charity chosen for the relevant hat. We tally amounts owed to each charity and remit them on a regular basis. We are not the charity and do not provide tax receipts on a charity’s behalf.

6. Refunds and the Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Because donations are passed on to charities, settled challenge donations are generally final. If something goes wrong with an order or a charge, contact us and we will work with you to put it right.

7. Your account

You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your sign in details secure. Tell us straight away if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use the site to break the law, to harass others, to attempt unauthorised access, or to interfere with how the site works. We may suspend accounts that do.

9. Intellectual property

The Playing For Pies name, logo, hat designs and site content are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy or reuse them without our permission.

10. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under Australian law.

11. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time, and the current version will always be posted here. These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the courts of [State] have jurisdiction.
